UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 26, 2016. Rosset’s Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) replaced 396 insulation units at six power substations in Khanty-Mansiysky Autonomous Region/Yugra to ensure a more stable power supply to the oil and gas companies in Nizhnevartovsky District, FGC UES West Siberian press office reports.
The new high-voltage equipment was installed at 500-kilowatt substation Trachukovskaya and 220-kilowatt substations Megion, Mirnaya, Kosmos, Mirazh, and Uryevskaya. All the upgrades are part of the company’s investment strategy. Additionally, 174 more insulation units at power substations in Yugra’s Nizhnevartovsky District are to get replaced before the end of the year.
The units are used to insulate and connect the current-carrying parts of electrical equipment on outdoor switch gear. Since the latter is permanently affected by weather impact, timely replacement of insulation units prevents equipment breakdowns.
