UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 26, 2016. Six T10MB marsh crawler made at Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ) were recently shipped to the Polar North by order of Taymyrgeofisika.
The corporation’s press service reports the plant won a tender for the delivery of the crawlers; according to Sales Director for Ural and Siberian Federal Districts Artem Yezhov, the customers chose the marsh crawlers with stick shift transmission and D180 engine, which is the best option for harsh climates that has proved effective in the Polar North before.
Five out of six tractors are towing vehicles with hook-up mechanisms to transport geophysical appliances such as drilling units and earthquake-detection stations. The sixth tractor is a bulldozer meant for clearing winter roads.
These are all serially produced vehicles with a starting preheater, double glazing, and insulating bonnet wrappers.
The marsh crawlers are now going to Krasnoyarsk by railway, from which port they will be delivered via the Yenisei River to Taymyr Peninsula, now part of Krasnoyarsk Territory.
