25 August 2016 (13:47)
UrBC, Yekaterinburg, August 25, 2016. Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation’s head plant coordinated its Best Chef Contest in celebration of the plant’s 80th anniversary, the company press service reports.
Eighteen cooks from Ural Vagon Zavod’s canteen/catering unit took part in the competition. Their tasks were to make a presentation on their culinary skills, join a cooking one-on-one contest, and present the dishes that had made in advance. The presentation could be delivered in any form, so people could sing, read poetry, and so on. The contestants could also use their support group in different ways to score extra points. A presentation could be no longer than five minutes each.
The dishes made beforehand were five different types of appetizers and a main course for five to six people; pastry chefs had to make a cake based on their own recipe, some cupcakes, or a chocolate dessert.
