UrBC, Yekaterinburg, July 6, 2016. Students from Ural Federal University Higher School of Engineering are undergoing their first introductory internship at Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation in Nizhniy Tagil.
The company press service reports fourteen students from Yekaterinburg, Perm, Magnitogorsk, Kirovograd, Chelyabinsk Region, and Kirov Region are studying system analysis and management, and this is the first time they find themselves on an actual production site. The internship is coordinated by UFU’s on-site Chair of Machine-Building (set up at Ural Vagon Zavod in 2014).
A week-long internship involves getting acquainted with the city’s primary employer and the company’s history, spending time at production departments, and looking into the up-to-date equipment. The students went to tool-making, stamping, rubber goods, and electrode departments, the Senior Electrician’s Department, metal-testing lab, and Coating Department 2. They also learned about the history of the tank-making industry at the company’s armored vehicles museum.
