UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 31, 2016. Ural Airlines and Yekaterinburg’s Koltsovo Airport are now working on introducing more connecting flights with a stopover in Yekaterinburg for international transit passengers, the air carrier’s press service reports.

For one, scheduled flights from Yekaterinburg to Rome and Paris were launched in late March 2016, timed conveniently with those from Beijing to Yekaterinburg. This means passengers traveling from China can enjoy a new opportunity to fly to Europe through Yekaterinburg. In fact, the share of transit passengers on Yekaterinburg-Beijing flights currently comes to as much as 60%.

The airline will introduce to more transit options – to Copenhagen and Helsinki – by June, while the number of Beijing-Yekaterinburg flights will go up from four to seven flights a week.

‘We are very interested in developing this airport’s transit potential and expanding the new markets such as the air travel from Asia to Europe. Yekaterinburg is located very conveniently for focusing on passengers from China,’ says Regional Airports Management Company’s Development Director Sergei Dotsenko.
