Ural Airlines Celebrate Yekaterinburg-Beijing Flight’s 10th Anniversary
8 July 2019 (10:35)
UrBC, Moscow, July 8, 2019. Ural Airlines will operate a very special Yekaterinburg-Beijing flight today, the air carrier’s press service reports.
‘Exactly ten years ago today, the airline operated its very first flight from Yekaterinburg to Beijing. The introduction of a scheduled flight in 2009 was strategically very important for the economic and cultural ties between China and the Urals. More than 370,028 passengers have travelled on this flight since then, while destinations in China have grown to become some of the key ones for both the airline and the airport. The new flight has meant passengers flying from China were given an opportunity to get the shortest connection to Europe, and Russian travelers can now fly to China’s capital directly,’ the press service says.
‘Ural Airlines are among the first Russian air carriers to provide an air travel link between Russia’s outside-of-Moscow locations with the Chinese provinces. We have connected the Urals and China and also unfolded our international transit flight program, with Yekaterinburg’s Koltsovo Airport as a single hub for all connecting flights. We now offer transfers from Beijing to Rome, Paris, and Prague via Yekaterinburg. As for destinations in Russia itself, the Chinese tourists are interested in Moscow and Saint Petersburg the most,’ says Ural Airlines’ First Deputy Director-General and CFO Kiril Skuratov.
The airline’s Yekaterinburg-Beijing flight gets operated up to five times a week. Ural Airlines also operate flights from Yekaterinburg to Harbin and Ordos.
