UrBC, Yekaterinburg, May 20, 2016. Omsktransmash (a member of Ural Vagon Zavod Corporation) congratulated and awarded the winners of Star, a multi-field engineering contest for high school students coordinated by Russian Engineering Union and the League of Assistance for Defense Enterprises, the corporation’s press service reports.
The solemn awarding ceremony took place in Omsk State Technical University on May 17. The contest finalists were given winners’ certificates and gifts with Omsktransmash and Russian Engineering Union’s Omsk division logos.
‘162 students from Moscow, Chelyabinsk, Arkhangelsk, Yaroslavl, Rostov, and Omsk Regions as well as from Mordovia, Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Region, and other Russian constituencies competed in Star altogether. Omsk contestants proved rather strong, with seventeen students from School 73, Gymnasium 19, Gymnasium 75, and Lyceums 25, 64, 145, and 166 winning prizes. The students’ success in the prestigious competition means they can apply for Omsk State Technical University, the primary tech school in the area, on special, preferential terms,’ the press service says.
