Russia has 1m unemployed

UrBC, Moscow, February 2, 2016. The number of Russia’s jobless rose by 3.4% by January 27 and came to 1m people, RIA Novosti refers to the Labor Ministry as saying.

‘The number of people officially out of jobs went up by 3.4% between January 20 and January 27 and came to 1,001,111 people (against 968,639 people on January 20),’ the press service says.

Unemployment was actually on the decline in three Russian federal constituencies – Komi, Ingushetiya, and Kirov Region, and on the increase in eighty-two constituencies. The situation looked most worrying in Tyva, the Crimea, Altai, Buryatia, Adygea, Bashkortostan, Mary El, Mordovia, Chuvashia, Udmurtia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Magadan Region, Kostroma Region, Sakhalin Region, Ryazan Region, Omsk Region, Bryansk Region, and Voronezh Region.

Additionally, the number of workers on idle time, part-time, and agreed leaves rose by 1% and reached 264,457 people.
