Sverdlovsk Region: Number of unemployed up by 6,000 people

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, September 17, 2015. 48,532 people officially registered as unemployed with Sverdlovsk Region employment agencies between January and August 2015, Labor & Employment Department reports.
39,609 people registered as job-seekers as of September 1; 38,543 of them were out of employment at the time of application. The official unemployment rate stood at 1.42% in early September, compared with 1.14% a year earlier.
The overall number of people looking for employment came to 139,412 on September 1, 2015. The overall unemployment rate stood at 6.1%, compared with 5.8% a year earlier.
58 local businesses informed the Department of their plans to make 7,262 workers redundant altogether. 129 companies also reported they were switching 13,142 of their workers to part-time, in addition to 11,595 already there. Besides 1,475 people are now on idle time and 72 went on unpaid leaves.
