UrBC, Yekaterinburg, December 9, 2015. A group of delegates from the oil-producing company Rosneft paid a visit to Seversky Pipe Plant (a member enterprise of Pipe Metallurgical Company/TMK), TMK press service reports.
The delegates’ main goal was to look at the outcomes of a recent large-scale reconstruction, including a new electric steel-smelting facility and a FQM pipe-rolling facility. The delegation comprised head plant and daughter companies’ representatives and experts from Rosneft’s scientific research and design institutes. Rosneft is TMK’s key customer and buys around half a million tons of various pipes every year.
The delegates went to see both facilities and were shown how weldless pipes are made with the help of the FQM unit and what modern equipment is used at the plant’s quality control lab. They also went to the company museum dedicated to the plant’s history.
Finally, there was a meeting on how to make industrial pipelines more reliable and what requirements corrosion-resistant pipes used in these pipelines must meet. The meeting was attended by Rosneft representatives along with experts from TMK NGS Nizhnevartovsk, RosNITI, TAGMET, Volzhsky Pipe Plant, and Sinara Pipe Plant.
