UrBC, Magnitogorsk, Chelyabinsk Region, July 10, 2015. 35XGSA, a new type of steel for bars and rods, was produced at Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works/MMK electric steel-smelting department, the company press service reports.

This steel has already been used to make hot-rolled six-sided bars that meet GOST 2879-2006/GOST 4543-71 standards and hot-rolled round bars that meet GOST 2590-2006/GOST 4543-71 standards; the former were sent to MMK METIZ (a metal goods plant that is part of MMK Group). Rolled products made from 35XGSA steel are used in the machine-building and car-making industries for manufacturing levers, axes, flaps, rolls and other irregularly shaped parts that operate under reversed load.

This year, MMK expects to start producing 12XN, 38XGNM, and 41X1 steels as well.
