4,500 lose jobs in Sverdlovsk Region so far this year

April 10, 2015. 4,556 people were made redundant by Sverdlovsk Region-based enterprises between January 1 and April 8, 2015, Sverdlovsk Region Legislative Assembly Deputy Andrei Alshevskikh reports.

The number of laid-off workers rose by nearly 3,000 people between January 28 and April 8; the number of those working part-time went up by 1,716. 7,692 employees found themselves on forced leaves by April 1 compared with 634 workers on January 28.

The number of enterprises operating entirely part-time increased by 36 between January 28 and April 8 and now comes to 132 companies.

The number of businesses where job cuts are expected went up by 15 and now comes to 47.

By July 1, 2015, 53 workers will be made redundant at Novouralsk-based Ural Electro-Chemical Plant; 30 people will lose their jobs because MSK Insurance Group’s Yekaterinburg subsidiary has gone into liquidation. 51 workers will become unemployed due to Uniland Yekaterinburg leaving Kamensk Uralsky, and 31 people will be made redundant at the state-run Centralized Accounting Office in Pervouralsk.
