ChTZ vehicles to help monitor emergencies at Russian Railways
3 February 2015 (09:27)
February 3, 2015. Two bulldozers made at ChTZ Uraltrac (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation), namely, DET400M and B14, are going to join the emergency train vehicles parade.
The corporation’s press service says the two bulldozers’ capacities will be demonstrated to railway workers at a practice ground near Tula, where Russian Railways Emergency Monitoring & Coordination Center will conduct an experience-sharing workshop on February 17-19.
ChTZ is getting its vehicles ready for the demonstrations, so as to send them to the destination point (the base of Moscow Railways emergency train) in early February. DET400M, which is meant for pulling derailed carriages and other recovery jobs, will be fitted with a 50,000-kg-strong pulling hoist. While the hoist will have to be bought from another manufacturer, the platform and other hinging devices will be made at the plant. This bulldozer will also be fitted with a narrowed blade to make sure the vehicle can travel on a platform.
The other tractor (B14), with a Yaroslavl Motor Plant-made engine and hydro-mechanical transmission, will be fitted with a 25,000-kg-strong pulling hoist (produced by ChTZ itself). This mobile vehicle will come in handy for ancillary jobs.
