November 24, 2014. The Republic of South Africa is planning to expand its share of Yekaterinburg food market, Governor of Sverdlovsk Region’s Information Policy Department reports. The plans were announced by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Russia Mr Mandisi Mpahlwa during his stay in Yekaterinburg.
‘Our trade mission will help expand the range of goods our two countries trade in. For the last two years, we have been trying to take our bilateral relationship beyond such traditional locations as Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Sverdlovsk Region is an area that offers some of the best cooperation opportunities,’ the Ambassador said.
According to Mr Mpahlwa, his current visit to Yekaterinburg is targeted at promoting agricultural cooperation between the RSA and Russia, as was agreed between the countries’ Presidents, Jacob Zuma and Vladimir Putin, in Moscow in the summer of 2014.
