Chicken prices rise over 20% in Sverdlovsk Region

October 27, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region division of the Federal Antimonopoly Service carried the findings of their check of the wholesale prices set by manufacturers of some staple foods for the local supermarket chains. The price checks were conducted on October 2-8, 2014.
For one, the price of pork (excluding boneless meat) fluctuated between -3.47% and +2%, the price of chicken (excluding leg quarters) changed within the -2.22% to +20.64% range, while that of frozen fish varied within the -12.07% to +16.25% range.
The changes in the price of butter varied from -41.8% to +15.83%, those in the price of milk varied between -31.87% and +6.88%.
As for vegetables prices, these fluctuated between -32.83% and +4% (potatoes), between -41.05% and +40% (cabbage), between -18.99% and +27% (onions), and -43.48% and – 21.23% (carrots).
At the same time, the wholesale price of beef (excluding boneless meat) remained the same.
