Sverdlovsk Region enterprises’ profit declines 24.3% in January-May

August 1, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region-based large and medium enterprises made 23.5bn RUR worth of profit (with all the losses deducted) in January-May 2014. However, this is actually 49.3% less than in the first half of 2013, Sverdlovskstat reports.
The profits of profit-making companies dropped by 24.3% and amounted to 54.9bn RUR compared with a year earlier.
At the same time, some economic sectors did much better in terms of profit in January-May 2014; these are: agriculture, hunting, and forestry (the profit figures went up by 1.7 times compared with January-May 2013), construction (1.5 times), extraction of mineral resources (1.5 times), supplying communal housing services, social services, and personal services (1.3 times), hotels and restaurants (1.3 times), and real estate transactions, rent, and real estate services (1.3 times).
