July 14, 2014. Russia is launching a no-visa mode for sports players, umpires, coaches, and even supporters for the duration of the World Cup 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his interview to ITAR TASS News Agency.
'In some respects, Russia is planning to go further than the hosts of this year's Mundial,' Putin said.
He pointed out that the special preferential terms visa regime was already adopted through a federal law for the foreigners who will help prepare for the football championship of 2018.
'Shortly before and during the event, not only the official participants such as the players, the umpires, coaches and so on, but also the supporters will be able to enter Russia with no visa,' Putin assured the press.
