Number of apartments for sale on Yekaterinburg existing homes market goes up 15%

July 10, 2014. 1 The number of apartments available for sale on Yekaterinburg existing homes market rose by 15% over the last four months, Ural Chamber of Real Estate reports based on its database updates.
Estate agents are currently advertising over 8,500 apartments, which is 1.1 units more than in late March 2014.
The asking prices have been growing as well, although the growth rate is slow: up to 0.15% a week. Apartments have only grown 3.7% more expensive since the beginning of the year. According to the Chamber's Analytical Department, the median asking price of a square meter of housing came to 75,500 RUR on July 7.
Prices rose most noticeably in the city's third most expensive area: 0.3%; the median price reached 65,400 RUR per sq m in this market segment. As for the most expensive and second most expensive districts, the price remained more or less the same. The asking price of a sq m of housing in the downtown parts of Yekaterinburg is still around 78,900 RUR, that of a sq m of housing in the second most expensive segment stands at 70,200 RUR. As for the fourth most expensive area of the city, prices actually dropped over the last four weeks, and the drop was quite evident.
