June 6, 2014. Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (a member enterprise of ChTPZ Group) is going to deliver over 9,000,000 kg of large-diameter pipes to Rosneft for the construction of Suzun-Vankor oil pipeline (this is part of the Yamal Pipeline System). The LDPs are to be shipped in May-July 2014, the company's press service reports.
The 530-mm pipes with wall width of 9mm are made from corrosion-resistant 09GBYu steel with urethane-foam coating (the foam width is 100mm, the width of the zinc-coated membrane is more than 1.5mm); the pipe's running pressure is 6.3 Mpa. This thermo-insulating coating is a necessary proviso if one intends to use the pipes efficiently for a long time. Suzun-Vankor will be constructed in the area with a harsh climate: the temperature varies between minus 55 and plus 50 degrees centigrade.
The difficulty of the order lies in the fact that it has to be fulfilled very quickly. Suzun-Vankor connects Suzun oil deposit and Vankor-Purpe pipeline; it is to be launched in January 2015, so the LDPs necessary for the construction must be delivered by the end of July.
