ChTPZ to supply 10,000,000 kg of pipes for natural gas pipeline

March 30, 2015. Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant (ChTPZ) is going to supply 10,000,000 kg of large-diameter pipes for the construction of the Beineu – Bozoi – Shymkent gas pipeline in March and April. The pipeline is being built by the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China, ChTPZ Group’s press service reports.
Under the terms of the contract, ChTPZ Group will provide their customer, Beineu – Shymkent Gas Pipeline, with 1,067-mm pipes (wall width 11.9mm) with three-layer corrosion-resistant outer coating made of X70 MMK steel. All of the pipes for the order will be manufactured at the plant’s Vysota 239 department in accordance with the APL 5L standard and will have to be accepted by an external certificating body, Bureau Veritas Russia.
The construction of the Beineu – Bozoi – Shymkent pipeline falls into two stages. ChTPZ pipe manufacturers supplied over 100,000,000 kg of LDPs (including custom-made LDPs with drawings designed by winners of the Picturesque Pipeline Contest) for the first stage of the project in 2012. The pipeline’s first section was launched in 2013; the second section is expected to be completed by 2016.
