June 4, 2014. The employees of ChTZ-Uraltrac (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Corporation) received a letter from a machine operator named Jan Hoffman, who lives in Amtsberg, a municipality in Saxony. In this letter, he spoke about how his relationship with the company's dealer F.K.M. Praga was progressing, the corporation's press service says.
According to Hoffman, he came to the Czech capital together with his friend, a T-130 tractor owner, to meet the head of the dealer company Gennady Fedchun. The visitors picked up some pre-ordered pare parts there. Jan's friend bought an additional set of parts as well. They also decided to place one more large order.
Jan Hoffman also said that he saw a new ChTZ bulldozer (B10М.6100 with a mechanical gearbox and an engine made at Yaroslavl Engine Plant) at the company website.
'It looks really good,' he said. He felt that the price of the new bulldozer quoted by the dealer was 'very good' as well.
'This machine operator has been interested in our vehicles for a while now. This interest actually stems from his father. Hoffman Senior used to spend years at the wheel of the T-100 back in the Democratic Republic of Germany. As a sign of respect for the designers of the T-100 tractor, one of the most massively produced vehicles in the world, he suggested that his son restore this retro-vehicle that was bought in one German firm upon a suitable occasion. In answer to the Germans' query, ChTZ experts sent them all the necessary technical documentation and manuals and helped them find the spare parts. When the T-100 was restored, the Hoffmans went on a road show and took part in numerous vintage vehicle exhibitions. Jan Hoffman even joined Germany Historic Vehicles Club. He then got the second tractor like this and started to restore it as well,' the company says.
Hoffman has been keeping in touch with the plant all the time and has been sending his achievement reports to Chelyabinsk. He even offered to help his new friends in promoting the modern makes through his partners in a building company, who are informed about ChTZ products.
