August 7, 2014. The German almanac Construction Yearbook 2014 is going to publish an article on ChTZ-Uraltrac (a member enterprise of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation).
According to the corporation’s press service, the article was written by Ian Hoffman, an excavator and bulldozer operator from Saxony who reconstructed his two T100 tractors made at ChTZ.
‘Ian Hoffman said in a letter he wrote to the tractor plant’s workers that he had prepared a forty-page article which dwells on the story of the T100 and on the plant’s history from the day the enterprise was launched to nowadays. The author says the director of the almanac took a great interest in his materials. The almanac will come out at the end of 2014. Hoffman promised to forward a copy of the issue to the plant as soon as it is available,’ the company reports.
Hoffman also sent a disk with recent photographs of all the reconstruction stages of the tractor engine with his letter.
‘Nearly ten years after his first T100 was reconstructed, the diesel of the D108 tractor turned out to be in serious need of repair. Hoffman did all the repair jobs himself. He bought some of the spare parts from ChTZ dealer in the Czech Republic, and his D108 is working again, as good as new. The videoclip Ian sent to us you can see the tractor in operation and hear just how powerful the engine sounds,’ the company’s press service says.
