April 16, 2014. The industrial production index in Sverdlovsk Region was 11% lower in January-March 2014 than it was in the first quarter of 2013, Sverdlovskstat reports.

In March 2014 and February 2014, the industrial production index was, respectively, 11.8% lower and 7.3% higher than in March 2013 and February 2013. The index was 12.2% lower than a year earlier in the mineral resources sector in January-March 2014; the figure was also 28.3% lower and 8.3% higher than in March 2013 and February 2013, respectively.

As for the processing industries, the figure was 11.5% lower in the first quarter of 2014 than in the first quarter of 2013, the figures for March and February 2014 were, respectively, 7.4% lower and 9.9% higher than last March and February.

As for the production and distribution of electric power, natural gas, and water, the industrial production index was 14.3% lower in March 2014 than a year earlier and 7.3% lower than in February 2013. In the first quarter of 2014, the figure was 7.1% lower than in Q1’13.
