MMK wins Golden Miner Prize

February 3, 2014. Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) won the prestigious, independent Golden Miner Prize in the Company category.
The company was awarded an honorary diploma for media communications development in 2013. The prize coordinators commented on MMK’s unprecedented media activity and the great quality of the materials they present, the enterprise reports.
The Golden Miner Prize was set up by a major metallurgical newspaper Gornopromyshlennye Vedomosti with some support from Moscow State Mining University. The awarding ceremony took place at the university, during the plenary session of the 22nd annual Miner’s Week that was attended by the representatives of both Russian and foreign metallurgical companies, scientists, experts, and college heads.
The honorary diploma and a bronze figurine of a miner holding a gold nugget were awarded to winners in six categories. For one, Professor Lev Puchkov, Doctor of Engineering Science and Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and First Deputy Head of the Russian Federation State Duma Culture Committee Iosif Kobzon, People's Artist of the USSR and Professor Emeritus at Moscow State Mining University.
