2,000 hectares of agricultural land are misused in Sverdlovsk Region in 2013

January 15, 2014. Sverdlovsk Region Public Property Ministry inspected 19,238 hectares worth of agricultural land in 2013, and it was detected that 1,918.1 hectares altogether were misused, the Ministry's press service reports.
863 hectares were misused in Kamensky District, 161.3 hectares were misused in Sysert District, 138 hectares were misused in Berezovsky, and 135 hectares, 18 hectares, and 678 hectares were misused in Beloyarsky, Gornouralsky, and Baikalovsky Districts, respectively.
Following inspections by Sverdlovsk Region Public Property Ministry, rental contracts are now being revoked in accordance with the legal procedures with tenants who violated the agricultural land use regulations. Contracts for rent of some 600 hectares of land have already been annulled by now.
Besides, the ministry is going to cooperate with other local and federal authorities to look into land use in 127 more land allotments with the total area of 7,500 hectares.
