Ural Airlines celebrates twenty years in business

December 27, 2013. Ural Airlines celebrated its 20th anniversary recently. The solemn reception took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Exactly two decades ago, Sverdlovsk Aviation Company was divided into the airline and the airport, thus producing the Ural Airlines' brand. Over these twenty years, the airline has lived through quite a number of successes, and it is today one of Russia's largest air carriers with an extensive network of foreign partners, which cooperation allows the airline to offer its passengers a full range of services, the airline's press service reports.

Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Evgeniy Kuivashev, Counselor to Plenipotentiary Representative of Russian Federation President in Ural Federal District Victor Guz, Deputy Head of Yekaterinburg Council Evgeniy Lipovitch, and heads of local ministries and departments came to the reception to congratulate the airline on the anniversary. The airline's employees were given state awards during the reception. All the guests could enjoy the hotel restaurant's splendid cuisine and the show, crowned by a performance by the singer Valeria.

This anniversary year 2013 was quite a good one for Ural Airlines: the airline now operates an entire family of Airbus 320 aircraft, as the first A319 makes arrived in Yekaterinburg in the middle of the year. The air carrier also received the Wings of Russia Prize for the 11th time. Then, the company fully switched to a new technological platform called Amadeus Altea. Finally, the year's 4,000,000th passenger flew with the company this year. All in all, Ural Airlines has offered its services to 25m people since the day the company was set up.
