Ural Airlines Wins Russian Wings 2017 Contest

UrBC, Yekaterinburg, April 13, 2018. Ural Airlines are Airline of The Year according to Russian Wings 2017, the air carrier’s press service reports.

‘The national Russian Wings Contest’s awarding ceremony took place on April 10, 2018. Ural Airlines won as Airline of The Year in both Group I Domestic Flights (3m passengers or more) and in Scheduled International Flights. The titles were awarded by a board of experts comparing aviation industry representatives and members of a number of civil organizations,’ the press service says.

Russian Wings Contest was set up by the Russian Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT) and the Aviatransportnoye Obozreniye magazine in 1997; this is a renowned professional award that distinguishes the most successful Russian airlines working in the civil aviation sector. Ural Airlines have won numerous awards in various categories over the last twenty years. This year, more than a hundred companies, both airlines and airports, competed for the award.

Ural Airlines are among the country’s leading air carriers in terms of passenger traffic. 8,000,474 people flew with the airline last year (up 23.7% on the year 2016).
