September 26, 2013. Ural Civil Aviation Plant and Sverdlovsk Region Government signed an agreement on unmanned aircraft assembly in the area during the 9th International Arms Exhibition Russia Arms Expo-2013 in Nizhniy Tagil, a UrBC reporter says.
‘Before the end of this year, four to six such aircraft will be produced. We are currently doing the semi knocked down assembly and intend to go on to co-production. I think that, this time next year, we will be assembling dozens of these planes. The main thing we are negotiating at the moment is the location of the production and assembly facility in Sverdlovsk Region,’ says Sverdlovsk Region Prime Minister Denis Pasler.
Ural Civil Aviation Plant’s Director-General Vadim Badekha noted that the planes could be used for rescue operations and firefighting missions.
