May 27, 2013. The Prime Minister of Sverdlovsk Region Government Denis Pasler paid a visit to Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation’s head plant for the first time recently. During his visit, he looked at the main sections of the carriage-assembly department and at Russia’s (for now) only tank assembly line that is used to make combat and engineering vehicles.

Uralvagonzavod’s Executive Director Vladimir Roshchupkin acted as the tour guide for the region’s Prime Minister. Denis Pasler was shown the 120,000th axle the company produced in 2012 and a new automated line with the capacity of 45,000 axles a year. In the cistern-making shop, he was shown the plant’s most up-to-date products, for which hopes are high. Denis Pasler was particularly interested in the southern section of the coating department with its super-advanced line for the sand-blast cleaning, coating, and drying of the carriages. This line has no counterparts either in Russia or anywhere else in the world.

Pasler said:

‘Uralvagonzavod is an object of our economic and financial pride and one of our security assets. Both Nizhniy Tagil in particular and the whole country in general need this enterprise. I am impressed with it size, its achievements, and its plans. We do hope these plans come true and we see a competitive, highly productive enterprise that can assume the responsibility for the security of Sverdlovsk Region and Russia on the whole.
