MMK BOD Chairman Viktor Rashnikov is awarded the Order For Merit to the Fatherland

September 5, 2013. Under the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin’s decree, BOD Chairman of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) and President of MMK Management Company Viktor Rashnikov was awarded the 2nd degree Order For Merit to the Fatherland.
Head of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works was given this high-profile award in recognition of his many years’ conscientious performance and great contribution to the development of the metallurgical industry, MMK reports.
The large-scale modernization program implemented at MMK over the last decade resulted in the metallurgical giant’s major revival. The investment program covers such areas as: an expanded range of products and new kinds of products, enhanced production efficiency, and more deep-level processing goods for the home market. Among the grandest investment projects within the program were: the launch of a modern electric steel-smelting facility in 2006, a major renovation of the rolling section production department in 2005-2006, the construction of several hot-dip galvanizing and coating facilities in 2009, and the launch of an all-purpose facility for the production of high quality automobile body sheets in 2011-2012. All in all, MMK Group invested $8.8bn in technical upgrades in 2000-2012.
