September 4, 2013. 6 new hotels will be launched in Yekaterinburg by 2018, acting deputy Mayor of Yekaterinburg for Consumer Market & Services Issues Vladimir Bolikov said during the Open Studio TV program.
According to Bolikov, to make sure Yekaterinburg can nicely host the World Cup 2018 games, 7,760 hotel rooms will be needed (6,000 of which will be for the fans).
‘After these new hotels have been launched, we can feel safe about welcoming all our guests in Yekaterinburg,’ he said.
There are currently 109 hotels operating in Yekaterinburg, and, as Bolikov explains, their ‘commercial load’ is about 63% and keeps going up.
‘The majority of hotels are three-star ones, and they enjoy good demand, as 70% of travelers to Yekaterinburg are here on business,’ Bolikov pointed out.
