July 31, 2013. the Economic News Agency came up with a political weight rating of Russian businesspeople by order of Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

The quarterly rating is called 50 Most Influential Entrepreneurs & Investors in the second quarter of 2013; BOD Chairman of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) Viktor Rashnikov was given the 17th position in the rating (the Strong Influence category) – the result was the same as in the previous quarter, and this is, in fact, one of the highest positions in the Russian metallurgical industry.

The methodology of the rating that Nezavisimaya Gazeta carries every quarter has stayed the same. The political weight of 86 Russian entrepreneurs in the second quarter of 2013 was decided upon by 30 experts. A scale was applied where 0 to 1 meant 'minimal impact', 1 to 2 meant 'weak impact', 2 to 3 meant 'medium impact', 3 to 4 meant 'strong impact', and 4 to 5 meant 'very strong impact'. Thus 50 most politically influential entrepreneurs and businesspeople in Russia were selected.

In fact, one more rating created by the Economic News Agency was published by Nezavisimaya Gazeta recently. In this rating, Viktor Rashnikov was one of the Top 20 most efficient lobbyists in Russia in June 2013.
