June 18, 2013. Yekaterinburg keeps competing for the right to host World Universal Exhibition EXPO 2020. The convenient location of the infrastructure facilities is seen as one of the Russian city’s primary advantages, Yekaterinburg Council’s press service reports.

Special attention is now paid to creating parking lots on EXPO Park premises; the total area of the parking zone is expected to come to 60 hectares; this will be enough for 500 buses and 18,745 cars; besides, there will be room for 16,800 automobiles in an underground parking lot for those who will be staying in EXPO City.

It’s worth noting that the total number of parking slots is 40% larger than in Russia on average and comes to more than 36,000 slots.

The parking zones are expected to run around the entire perimeter of EXPO Park; what’s more, commuter parking lots will be introduced at the entrance to the exhibition area for the ‘park and ride’ visitors.
