April 8, 2013. The American company OFS International LLC that is controlled by Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), one of the world’s largest OCTG manufacturers, purchased a 100% stake in those assets of ITS Tubular Services (Holdings) Limited (based in Aberdeen, Scotland) and of an affiliated group of stockholders that have to do with pipe servicing and production of O&G goods, TMK press service reports.
The said assets are located to the north-west of Houston, on the territory of 84 acres, and have the capacity for cutting over 700,000 pipes and for making about 250,000 pipe couplers a year. What is more, these assets offer pipe-inspection services and deal in production of various kinds of borehole equipment that is quite widely used in the oil and gas industry.
Under the existing agreements, OFS International LLC has also acquired ownership of the Independent Inspection Services trademark and will use the trademark in its pipe-inspecting business.
‘This acquisition means TMK is building up its position on the U.S. market and shows once again that the company is trying to focus on its servicing activity and to offer the oil and gas enterprises high value-added goods,’ says TMK Director-General Alexander Shiryaev.
