JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» — challenge or precedent?

JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» is in the process of strategy decision making. Recently there has been the rearrangement of the share capital. At the moment of factory transference the former owners had provided the main technological process and initiation of production. Now in the plans of new shareholders is continuing of a large-scale modernization, the second processing chain introduction and the field Severskoe-2 elaboration.
According to a source closed to the JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» managing company, a tender for the supply of crushing and sorting complex to organize the two-and three-stage production of rubble is currently running. Interest in working with JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» was expressed by three international engineering groups — «Sandvik» (Sweden), «Martimex» (Czech Republic) and «Metso Minerals» (Finland). According to the managing director of JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» Elsa Vasbieva, «all potential partners are considered by JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» with high degree of seriousness. Our owners, investors, expect a decent perspective offers from these industrial groups, who are the leaders of the market and are recommended by reliable partners. The selection will be made based on a thorough analysis of quality and pricing».
This production capacity equipment would at least 2 times increase the volume of output and provide the quality jump regarding product line (in addition to the existing products the possibility of curbs, dry mixes and concrete manufacture is also assumed). But the current tender is only the starting point in the JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» modernization process. Beginning with investments in production part, the new owners will inevitably be faced with a necessity of other transformations. The decision of the European fund to place the JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier» to the high-tech level will be accompanied by efforts to improve staff development, both workers and management. The head office is planning to introduce international standards of business management, including reporting, quality control and labor safety systems. Thanks to the active policy of the new owners, the JSC «Severskiy Granitny Karier», a Russian production asset, is becoming an interesting example of foreign investment in the region.
