Uralvagonzavod DG Selected Russian-Algerian Business Council’s Chairman

November 2, 2012. The Russian-Algerian Business Council’s first meeting took place in the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The Director-General of Uralvagonzavod Scientific & Production Corporation Oleg Sienko was unanimously voted for as the new Chairman of the Russian part of the Council, the corporation’s press service reports.

The Chamber’s Vice President Georgi Petrov, the Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Russian Federation Smail Chergui, and Director of the Russian-Algerian Business Council Tatiana Gvilava commented on Oleg Sienko’s business and organizational skills and the great performance of the corporation he runs, and said they hoped the Russian and Algerian companies would keep on working on their mutually beneficial cooperation.

In his response, Sienko thanked all the attendees for the trust they have in him and spoke about the Council’s main activities and tasks for the year 2013.


The council liaising with the combined Interregional Trade & Economic and Scientific & Technological Cooperation’s Committee will be one of the top priority areas of the Council’s activity; in fact, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak is one of the Co-Chairmen of the Russian part of this committee.
