MMK Is one of Russia’s Economic Leaders
29 October 2012 (14:35)
The Expert magazine carried its annual rating of Russia’s 400 largest enterprises for the year 2011.
The research methodology has remained the same: the companies’ position in the rating was determined through ranging them in terms of sales volume, be it products, work, or services, last year. The rating does not differentiate between various branches of industry, so this meant that companies from nearly all of the existing economic sectors were featured in the rating.
Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works (MMK) is always present in this rating and is normally ranked as one of the country’s largest companies. The new rating for 2011 gives MMK the 28th position in terms of sales volume. In additional rating of Russia’s top 200 companies that is based on their market value, MMK was given the 31st position (based on market capitalization data valid as of September 1, 2012).
