Deal on NIGMAS Might Be Closed Before November

October 4, 2012. Sverdlovsk Region Government signed a memorandum on selling Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha-based subsidiary of OOO NIGMAS (Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha Metallurgical Plant, VSMZ) and Alapayevsk Metallurgical Plant, Sverdlovsk Region Government’s Press Service Administration reports.
‘We have reached a preliminary agreement on selling two plants: Alapayevsk Metallurgical Plant and Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha Metallurgical Plant. At the moment, the potential buyer is working on the legal details with OOO Volga-Sar, Bank Petrokommerz, and OAO Novaem,’ says the region’s Vice Premier Alexander Petrov.
He also added that on October 4, experts who will do a technical audit of VSMZ are coming to Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha.
‘Our primary task is to launch Verkhnyaya Sinyachikha Metallurgical Plant before the weather gets really cold. The plant has been idle since December 2011; we also need to launch Alapayevsk Metallurgical Plant, where the blast furnace is currently being repaired,’ Petrov said.
