MRSK Urala’s Profits Drop Nearly 16 Times

14 September 2012 (14:52)

The profit of OAO MRSK Urala came to 168.372m RUR in the first half of 2012, which is 15.8 times less than in the first half of 2011 (2,664,790,000 RUR), the company reports.

Profits from the company’s assets selling electric power amounted to 1,800,298,000 RUR on June 30, 2012, which is nearly two times less than a year earlier (2,694,125,000 RUR).

‘The decrease in profits has to do with Bogoslovsky smelter: this company stopped buying electricity from us in January 2012 and is now connected directly to the electric network of UES Federal Network Company. What is more, the rates were lowered in May 2012 by the authorities’ decision,’ MRSK Urala’s PR Director Dmitri Tyukhtin told Kommersant.
