Yekaterinburg Central Stadium Might Host Youth League Matches

12 September 2012 (09:26)

Yekaterinburg Central Stadium will be considered by the Russian Football Union as a possible venue for coordinating the Russian national youth team, Sinara Group’s PR Center reports.

On September 10, a qualification match for the European youth championship 2013 was held at the stadium, where the Russian national team played against Moldavia (2:2). In the same group, Poland and Portugal also had a draw. This means Nikolai Pisarev’s team came first in the group and is now in for the qualification play-off.

‘The Russian football union said at the end of the two matches, the stadium team managed to provide great organizational quality. This is an important factor for us, given especially that the FIFA committee is now selecting the cities that will participate in World Cup 2018. We also hope that we’ll host some international matches again in October and will help our national team get lucky in the matches,’ says the stadium Director-General Vadim Vorobiev.

The matches where the teams will compete for the chance to take part in the Euro Cup will take place on October 12 and October 16.
