ChTZ-Uraltrac’s Timber-Saving Bulldozer Used in Firefighters’ Drills

Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant (ChTZ) provided a bulldozer that was specially designed for the foresters’ needs for the recent emergency drills involving the forestry employees and the DoE officers of the South Urals at Anfalovo, Krasnoarmeysky District.
A mock ‘fire’ started in a field, and the bulldozer, fitted with a special plough, proved its efficiency in fighting this calamity. To connect the plough to the bulldozer, a special hydraulic lifting bar was elaborated by the company’s designers.
The firefighting tractor creates a 2.4-meter trench and thus separates the forest and the fields from the rapidly spreading fire. It can do the same thing in a forest, too. The cabin and the engine compartment are fitted with special structures that protect the driver and the machine from the falling trees.
First Deputy Head of Chelyabinsk Region Main Forestry Administration Viktor Blinov and Head of Chelyabinsk Region Firefighting & Forest Protection Center Alexander Baranovsky, who were present at the drills, pointed out that using such vehicles in the drills gives the trainees the experience that allows them to cope with the elements.
