10 July 2012 (09:15)
Renova Group of Companies’ new holding Regional Airports is planning to present projects on the development of three airports (in Yekaterinburg, Samara, and Nizhniy Novgorod) at the Ural International Exhibition/Forum Innoprom. The exhibition starts on July 12, 2012.
The key features of the presentation on Koltsovo Airport are the projects on the development of short-haul flights and the construction of a freight facility (this started a year ago and was pilot-launched in June 2012). The new freight terminal’s area comes to 19,000 sq m; it requires about 1.4bn RUR worth of investments. The project was developed by the German concern Hochtief Airports.
The program for the revival of short-haul flights through Koltsovo Airport began in the summer of 2010 when five new short-haul flights were launched from Yekaterinburg. Over twenty new flights with range under 1,000 km have been launched since then.
The airport stand’s main attraction is the interactive screen where visitors can see the general infrastructure development plan of Koltsovo Airport, compare its performance indicators with other Russian airports, and see its operation in real time mode, with 3D images of maintenance operations, vehicles, and aircraft.
The stand will also present information on the construction projects for Nizhniy Novgorod and Samara Airports.
