Rosimushchestvo Offical to Pay 5m RUR Fine
6 July 2012 (11:52)
Head of Public Property Control Department at Rosimushchestvo’s Sverdlovsk Region division Ilya Trunilin was found guilty of bribe-taking (Article 290 (part 3) of the Russian Federation Criminal Code), the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Court reports.
The Director of Alliance-Techno 2002 V. Ivanov appealed to Trunilin in March 2011, asking him to facilitate the signing of a warehouse rental contract. The hangar for automobile storage and repairs has the area of 1,500 sq m, is located in the village of Istok, is managed by the Russian Agricultural Academy’s Istok, and belongs to the state. Under the existing requirements, such rental contracts must get Rosimushchestvo’s Sverdlovsk Region division’s approval, and a tender must be coordinated as well.
In order to hide the fact that the hangar was being used illegally, Trunilin suggested skipping the tender and simply signing the agreement. He also promised to inform Ivanov of all the upcoming inspections well in advance and to solve all the problems that could result from the surveillance authorities’ intervention. However, the offender had no time to benefit from the bribe he had taken as he was detained right after the money had been accepted.
The court sentenced Ilya Trunilin to paying fifty times the amount of the bribe (5m RUR altogether) and forbade him to take top, leading, senior or junior positions in the government bodies for two years, the spokesperson for Sverdlovsk Region Court reports.
