Yekaterinburg’s Innoprom Stand to Present City as Global Events Venue

Yekaterinburg’s stand at the upcoming Ural International Exhbition/Forum of Industry & Innovations Innoprom 2012 will be presenting the region’s capital as the place where globally important events take place.
The stand will present the major international events that the city is expected to host in the next few years: the world computer programming championship 2016, the World Cup 2018, and the World Universal Exhibition EXPO 2020.
In the twenty-first century, Yekaterinburg sees itself not only as the region’s center and the capital of Ural Federal District, but also as a major Russian and international socioeconomic and cultural venue, as a city of international importance. In the nearest future, the city will face a number of daunting tasks related to preparation for important international events, EXPO 2020 being one of the most significant ones.
The participants of and visitors to Innorpom 2012 will be presented an image of Yekaterinburg as a perfect candidate for hosting large-scale international social, political, cultural, sports, and economic events. Visitors to the fair will be able to get acquainted with the EXPO 2020 theme and learn about other big international projects that Yekaterinburg has joined.
Not only will Innoprom 2012 give the leading innovational companies a chance to share their experience and show off their developments as well as sign advantageous agreements; it will also confirm Yekaterinburg’s status as Russia’s innovations capital ready for large-scale international events,’ the city council reports.
