Castorama to open in Yekaterinburg by end of year

Yekaterinburg city council says that the most important strategic task in the field of local trade infrastructure development is enhancing Yekaterinburg’s role as a major interregional wholesale and retail trading center.
The capital of the Urals currently houses 1,071 grocery stores and 2,660 shops selling non-food items as well as 26 shopping centers. In 2012, seven more malls are expected to open in the city. These are: RADUGA Park Shopping & Entertainment Center at the intersection of Repin St and Leningradskaya St, Panorama Shopping Center at the intersection of Malyshev St and Lunacharsky St, and O’Key Shopping Center at the intersection of Babushkin St and Frontovykh Brigad St. This year two building materials hypermarket will also start operating in Yekaterinburg: Castorama will open at the intersection of Kosmonavtov St and Sovkhoznaya St and Leroy Merlin in Bazovy Lane. Besides, a few other large-size shopping facilities will be launched.
