Yekaterinburg Electricity Supply Network Company JSC started reconstruction of Moskovskaya substation, the company’s PR-department reported. The reconstruction includes installation of two new transformers whose power is 40,000 kVA each. Now the company’s specialists are building the facilities for the new equipment. Metallurgical Industrial Complex of Nizhny Tagil JSC (part of Evraz Group) has recently put into operation the new overhead converter to be used in the oxygen-converter shop. The converter is meant for fringing metal slabs and needed for full examination of the produce of No 4 continuous casting unit. According to the company’s spokesperson, the converter was designed in the oxygen-converter shop and in the plant engineer administration, even though the contract concerning the construction of the continuous casting unit did not include the converter as the obligatory component of the system.

Ural aluminum plant (subsidiary of SUAL JSC) has already processed 5 million tons of bauxites from Timanskiy deposit by May 24, 2006.
