Koltso Urala lowers interest rates on loans

OOO Koltso Urala Commercial Bank came up with some much improved consumer loan offers: the interest rates on all the loans for private individuals have been decreased to 12% a year. The bank used to offer its loans for 19.9% a year, now it’s only 12%. The bank’s Retail Director Konstantin Bogatyrev explains the unprecedented drop in the interest rats is seen as a special offer for customers who need the money for a short time period. Tagil Beer to pay 19.2m fine

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service ruled that OOO Tagil Beer should pay a 19.2-million-ruble fine for unfair competition. The Service stated in March 2010 that the company’s actions were classed as unfair competition in accordance with Article 14 (part 1, paragraph 4) of the Federal Competition Protection Act. Prosecution authorities take legal action to protect Uralelectrotyazhmash

Space Company messed up in cannabis scandal

OOO Space Company, a computer store, was faced with an administrative lawsuit after running an ad banner that featured the images of cannabis leaves and the caption that read, ‘… A legal trip to Amsterdam’. Evraz Group’s net loss comes to $270m

Despite the 38% revenue growth in the first half of 2010 (the figures reached $6.38bn), Evraz Group did not resume making profit. The enterprise’s net loss amounted to $270m in January-June 2010 due to assets re-evaluation and their resulting depreciation, RBC daily reports. The company’s affairs don’t look as good as they could since Evraz failed to leave its losses in the past: even though these losses shrank by 3.7 times in the first half of the year, they still come to the impressive $270m.

Sverdlovsk defense enterprises lack orders

President of Sverdlovsk Region Defense Industry Enterprises Union Sergey Maksin said at a recent meeting that twenty-three out of the region’s thirty-seven defense companies obtained a full set of state orders, the Governor’s PR Department reports. Most of these enterprises have already received advance payments on these orders. At the same time, Sverdlovsk Region still owes about 343 million RUR to the local defense industry. Bomb search goes on in Fan Fan Mall

Mine pickers keep inspecting Fan Fan Trade & Entertainment Center in search of a bomb. Some unknown offender called the local militia station at about 10 AM on September 2, 2010 and claimed the mall had been mined. The law-enforcement officers arrived at the scene at once. Uralasbest complains of missing carriages

The freight of OAO Uralasbest got stuck in the warehouses due to the lack of railway carriages. ‘We needed 10,100 carriages to transfer our cargo in June and July, so we applied for the needed amount and got everything coordinated with Sverdlovsk Region Railways. M.Video’s profit margin drops to 25.8%

OAO M.Video Company’s gross profit margins decreased from 26.2% in the first half of 2009 down to 25.8% in the first half of 2010, the company’s financial report (drawn up in accordance with the IAS) states. At the same time, M.Video’s net profit came to 518 million RUR in January-June 2010: this means the profits doubled over one year. Sverdlovsk Region gets fewer migrants

Sverdlovsk Region’s mortality rate was 41.8% lower in January-June 2010 compared with January-June 2009. MOTIV Group shuts down D-AMPS stations

MOTIV Telecommunications Group stopped rendering its services to subscribers who use D-AMPS-based cellular transmission on September 1, 2010. The company also shut down all the machinery that enabled the mobile operator to work with the standard in question.
