The reconstruction of the airfield at Yekaterinburg-based Koltsovo International Airport is expected to start in May 2012 and to be over in 2014. Over 3bn RUR has been allocated from the federal budget to complete the project. Ural Airlines’ passengers departing from Domodedovo Airport in Moscow can now check in for their Chelyabinsk-bound flights online. Starting February 7, 2012, customers can check in and choose a suitable seat on board via the Internet, the air carrier’s press service reports. To check in online, a passenger has to go to the airline’s website www.uralairlines.com, select the Online Check-In option, and enter his or her personal data. Then, a boarding pass must be printed and presented at the airport’s security check.

The government purchases website carried an announcement regarding an open tender for a construction contract involving some building and assembly jobs at Koltsovo Airport, Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Region. The airport needs to have Section 2 of its airfield pavements restored and repaired. According to the tender documentation, the contract is worth 3bn RUR. All the jobs must be completed within 974 days of signing the construction contract. The results of the tender will be announced on March 19, 2012. The order is placed by Civil Airports Administration Federal State Unitary Enterprise.

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service ruled that UC RUSAL Trading House violated Article 10 (part 1, paragraph 8) of the Federal Competition Protection Act. The Board of Directors decided to go through with the recommendations of Uralmash Machine-Building Corporation and to accept their share purchase offer. The corporation that already owns a 98.91% stake in Uralmashzavod suggested to the latter’s stockholders that the remaining shares should be bought out. The shares in question are the registered preference Type A ones coming from the first share issue, and the proposed purchase price comes to 51 RUR apiece.

The Federal Public Assets Management Agency (acting on behalf of the Russian Federation) became the owner of a 7.4% shareholding in E.S. Yalamov Ural Mechano-Optical Plant Production Association. Prior to the transaction, the Russian Technologies State Corporation used to hold a 100% stake in this Yekaterinburg-based plant. ‘An additional share issue was launched in May 2009. The customer cardholders’ bonus points are now written off their cards when a purchase is processed at the till as the cashiers explain no points can be accumulated any longer.
