Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Petr Sumin celebrated the Railroader’s Day by presenting the regional population with a new electric train in the course of meeting the new head of South Ural Railways Vladimir Moldaver on July 27, 2007. Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government Viktor Koksharov says too few loans are given to farmers

Head of Sverdlovsk Region Government Viktor Koksharov reports that the agricultural production output only grew by 1.5% in the first half of 2007, which couldn’t be seen as really great. The number of people who had some accidents on the premises of mining enterprises based in Ural Federal District in the first half of 2007 falls short of that for January-June 2006 by 30.8% (there were 72 victims compared with 104 a year earlier). Rosselkhoznadzor prevents smuggling of 90 tons of meat to Russia
