SKB-Bank is Urals’ No. 1 asset-raising bank

The Expert Ural magazine came up with the rating of the Ural Region’s banks; four banks from Tyumen Region, three banks based in Sverdlovsk Region, and three Chelyabinsk Region banks filled the top ten positions. UC RUSAL to invest $1.4bn in environmental protection

UC RUSAL is going to spend $1.4bn on its seven-year environmental protection program. 'All of UC RUSAL’s member companies are to get $1.4bn each; besides, we are planning on cutting the amount of harmful emissions by 1.5 times by 2015,’ the company’s International Projects Director Alexander Livshits announced after signing a protocol on cooperation with the United Nations. Nizhneserginskiy Hardware Plant might close down due to lack of working capital

‘Nizhneserginskiy Hardware Plant (part of Maxi Group) might actually have to close down due to lack of working assets,’ Maxi Group’s PR Director Alexander Popov said to UrBC. Governor of Sverdlovsk Region says he’s unhappy with region’s railways

'I am very dissatisfied with both Sverdlovsk Region Railways’ investment plan and its current condition,’ Governor of Sverdlovsk Region Eduard Rossel said at a press conference on October 31, 2007. Sverdlovsk Region’s export and import shares in foreign trade turnover come to 78.4% and 21.6% in August 2007

The regional statisticians came up with some data on Sverdlovsk Region’s socio-economic development in January-September 2007. The region’s foreign trade turnover came to $7.4bn in January-August 2007 (excluding the exported and imported goods that are officially not liable to declaration). This is 27.4% more than a year earlier; the share of exported goods amounted to $5.8bn (which is 24.6% more than in January-August 2006) and the share of imported goods reached $1.6bn (which is 38.5% more than in January-August 2006). UC RUSAL’s Khakas Aluminum Plant reaches full capacity

UC RUSAL’s Khakas Aluminum Plant reached its full capacity well before the deadline.
